We are looking for an ambitious self-starter to join the Royalty Operations team. This role is based in New York and will be a key player in tackling our operational challenges as Spotifyâs business continues to expand and change. The Royalty Operations Team is the owner of royalty configuration and reporting and the operations lead for all royalty related processes across Spotifyâs music, audiobooks and podcast verticals. The Analyst will be a key part of this team, ensuring our financial systems are up to date, reporting deadlines are hit, and satisfactory responses are provided to our rightsholderâs inquiries.

What You'll Do
Work closely with the accounting teams to configure Spotifyâs music, audiobook, and creator licensing agreements in our royalty system; implement rates and products, run test calculations and summarize findings for sign-off.Responsible for fielding royalty-related questions from rightsholderâs finance teams and coordinating with internal finance and licensing teams to provide timely feedback Key team member involved in Spotifyâs month end close royalty calculation; perform checks to confirm calculations correct, summarize findings, and escalate issues to the team leadAssist with the monthly reporting process to Spotifyâs rightsholder partners, including daily interaction with the offshore technical team responsible for data generation/validation Who You Are
BA/BS degree1-2 + years experience in a financial or accounting role; equivalent experience in a royalty or licensing related role at a record label, digital service provider or music publisher a plusExcellent writing/communication skills; experience communicating complex concepts to external partiesOrganized and flexible individual with proven ability to manage multiple projects at onceCoachable self-starter eager to learn new concepts in a fast-paced environmentAny of the following is a plus:Demonstrated cross-functional abilities; able to coordinate across multiple teams to meet a deadlineWorking knowledge of label or publisher internal operationsGeneral understanding of music royalties and the music industry ecosystemProven comprehension of record label or music publisher contractsExperience working with digital service provider data files at a record label or music publisherPassion for music or entertainment industry Where You'll Be
This role is based in New York, NY We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the office 2-3 days per week. Additional Information
The United States base range for this position is $73,761.00

92,201.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance.
