Job title: Office Aide 4 Hour

Job description: The role of the 4 hr./6 hr. Aide is to monitor the cafeteria to facilitate a safe and orderly lunch period for the students of LISD. Responsibilities may include general clerical and classroom assistance during the periods before and after lunch.
Major Duties:
- Follow local, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Monitor the cafeteria during student lunch period.
- Assist in managing student behavior to include crisis intervention.
- Assist in supervising students.
- Conduct other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal before, during and after the lunch period.
- Work in conjunction with Durham Transportation as a bus driver.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in variable environmental conditions related to temperature, humidity and other atmosphere conditions.
- Travel by car, van, or bus and with others.
- Physical ability to do lifting of 10 lbs. or more, extensive standing, walking, talking, occasional running and the ability to move with agility.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn behavior management intervention techniques.
- The ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- The ability to understand and maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate in oral and written form in English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directives from the Principal and Assistant Principal.
