The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, seeks a talented senior designer to help support a new print design, a growing e-edition and special sections.<p><br></p>The page designer will work across a team of designers and copy editors to produce multiple editions per week. They have an intrinsic understanding of what makes for a dynamic news page and are fluent with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. In the senior designer role, the candidate will help with important duties like uploading/approving pages to the press and completing a checklist of duties at the end of production.<p><br></p>This is a remote, work-from-home position. You need not live in the Washington, D.C., area.<p><br></p>Any person in this position will be represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, Communications Workers of America Local 32035, AFL-CIO.<p><br></p><strong>About The Role</strong><p><br></p>The ideal candidate will understand how to write catchy and accurate headlines, sell-lines and captions, have experience working under deadlines and know how to stay organized and be able to multitask. A go-getter attitude and a passion and understanding of U.S. politics and policy issues are a definite plus.<p><br></p><strong>Skills And Qualifications</strong><p><br></p>Ideal candidates will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and know how to optimize design for both print and digital audiences. They should have a proven ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
