POSITION PROFILE This full-time, entry level IT position, in our Network Operations Center, is ideal for a candidate with a background in IT or a recent graduates of an IT program. This is a hourly, direct hire opportunity in which the incumbent will receive on-the-job training. To meet the needs of the operation, the full-time work schedule for this role will be 5 days per week scheduled Thursday through Monday. Current shift available is 3rd Shift (11pm - 7am CST) with voluntary overtime work opportunity available as needed. This position is responsible for providing 24/7/365 first level support and troubleshooting of a wide variety of issues, as well as clearly documenting and communicating these issues to technical teams and customers. PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Perform proactive monitoring of network elements and alerts to identify those components/elements that are causing or may lead to service degradation or failure  Monitor the network systems and applications for events and outages, create and route tickets to the appropriate engineering teams, and communicate events and outages to management  Interact with customers and engineering teams in support of both routine and reactionary monitoring situations via email, tickets and phone  Logging into a wide variety of customers systems, including Windows, Linux, AWS, VMWare and Networking devices  Take snapshots and perform restores on customers devices  Use escalation procedures for first level troubleshooting steps  Create tickets, logs and reports that document actions taken, and any information collected  Ensure customer satisfaction by dealing professionally and effectively with all customers/clients Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS  Experience with Operating Systems and diagnostic commands  Knowledge of basic networking protocols and concepts  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities even with limited information, and make appropriate and timely decisions.  Thorough and resourceful in completing tasks independently.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Ability to exercise a high degree of good judgement and independence while evaluating emergency and non-emergency situations.  Strong customer service skills  Successful candidates will be required to provide references and submit to and be able to pass a background check.
