Accident Reconstruction Engineer

 Engineering analysis of traffic accidents involving cars, trucks, tractor-trailers, motorcycles, and other vehicles.
 Perform on-site inspections of accident scenes and involved vehicles...
 Conduct ÂBlack box data acquisition for passenger vehicles and heavy trucks.
 Consult with attorneys and insurance adjusters on matters in litigation or pre-litigation.
 Testify as an expert witness in depositions and trials.
 Investigate mechanical systems failures and accidents, including researching mechanical systems design and operation.
 Perform vehicle dynamics research, including full-scale vehicle testing and data acquisition.
 Research, write, and publish technical reports and peer-reviewed publications on topics relevant to accident reconstruction and forensic engineering.
Required Qualifications
 Qualified candidates are required to have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. is preferred.
 Five to ten years of experience in vehicle accident reconstruction.
 Coursework and practical experience in accident investigation, analysis, reconstruction, report preparation and testimony.
 Practical mechanical experience, either professionally, through course work, or recreation.
 ACTAR certification and licensure as a professional engineer preferred.
 Experience in data acquisition systems for vehicle testing preferred.
 Willingness to travel.
 Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
 Experience working on a team as a project manager.
