Job Description:
Responsible for answering multiple phone lines, dispatching security and police officers to calls for service, responding to walk in traffic and clerical work as needed. Must be capable of working any shifts and weekends as determined by department need.
 Answers incoming calls for crimes, traffic crashes, medical emergencies, and routine calls for service on campus, and dispatch calls to officers as appropriate.
 Provide excellent customer related services to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
 Greeting guests, answering phones, monetary transactions, and interacting with customers on a daily basis, responding to their questions and guiding them to the appropriate services/locations.
 Conducts Background Checks/Finger Printing services.
 Create ID Cards for Students, Faculty, public.
 Provides directions, parking information and other assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
 May assist with the patrolling of campus and other college owned property on foot, bike, cart, and/or motor vehicles.
 May assist with unlock/secure appropriate buildings/rooms and facilities as directed
 Interacts positively with campus community members on a daily basis and assists members in identifying potential safety and/or criminal problems. Provides other public assistance to faculty, staff, students and visitors as needed.
 Watches for and reports irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
 Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons; approaches suspicious persons and/or notifies police as appropriate.
 Maintains security controls for issued College keys; safeguards and controls issued College equipment.
 Prepares routine, standardized reports. Ensure that activity logs are maintained and updated accurately. Data entry and data retrieval.
Qualifications
 At least one year of experience involving substantial public contact
 No criminal record
 Able to type at least 30 WPM
 Familiarity with computer systems
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
 Microsoft Office Suite
 General Knowledge of all campus and learning centers (Developed after hiring)
 Type 30 wpm accurately
 Excellent oral and written communication skills
 Excellent listening skills, able to relate to and gain the confidence and cooperation of the members of the greater College community
 Answer telephones and use radio communication to resolve problems and respond to inquiries regarding departmental procedures and services
 Possess excellent time management skills
 Capability to make educated, quick decisions
 Requires good judgment to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action in a timely manner
 Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy, and act calmly and rationally in an emergency
 Receive and refer visitors
