Job Description:
VocoVision is looking for a qualified teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to join our team for the 2024-25 school year. This fully remote position involves delivering engaging lessons using virtual platforms to students with hearing impairments.
Key Duties:
 Assist an on-site teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing.
 Create virtual lessons that are interactive and aligned with the curriculum for DHH students.
 Use technology like video chat and captioning services to communicate effectively.
 Provide individual instruction, adapting methods for various communication modes, such as ASL.
 Work with families and educational teams to develop and implement IEPs.
 Continuously assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
 Maintain detailed records of attendance and academic achievements.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Â BachelorÂs in Deaf Education or related field (MasterÂs preferred). Â State teaching certification/licensure in DHH education. Â Minimum two years of experience with DHH students, particularly in virtual settings. Â Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and educational technology tools. Â Ability to build strong connections with students and parents remotely. Â Must hold an Illinois teaching license.
