What Does a Line Controls Specialist do at Swire Coca-Cola?
Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent works closely with the line mechanical specialist to ensure that appropriate processes, capabilities, and routines are in place to support production by developing autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance capability, with specific focus on the electrical, power, controls, and information systems of a manufacturing line. The incumbent will also maintain, troubleshoot, install, and recommend control changes to improve business results in the areas of safety, quality, production, delivery, cost, and morale.
Job Details:
Schedule: 7am - 3:30pm (Mon - Fri, OT as needed)
Responsibilities:  Actively participate in line Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and execution of the daily plan, including reporting results of the previous 24 hours: number of breakdowns, resolved / unresolved defects, project management, etc  Serve as a coach and resource for the line team and actively participate in the execution of the maintenance plans. Develop manufacturing technicians capability of inspecting equipment for defects and correcting those defects  Support development and lead portions of 90-day loss elimination plans and the annual maintenance plan  Partner with line maintenance specialist in leading the breakdown elimination (BDE) daily management system (DMS) and drive breakthrough results in line stops and in Planned / Unplanned downtime  with specific focus on electrical, power, controls, and information systems of the manufacturing line  Partner with line maintenance specialist in leading the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling System  planning maintenance periods to resolve defects identified through equipment inspections, scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, and annual maintenance plan tasks / rebuilds  with specific focus on electrical, power, controls, and information systems of the manufacturing line  Ensure the revision and updating of maintenance system technical documentation occurs as necessary. Develop work instructions to ensure maintenance tasks are completed using best-practice, standardized methods  Support the line team in troubleshooting potential controls related breakdowns and process failures. Program controls equipment and ensure machine performance meets safety, quality, and production requirements  Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:  High School Diploma (or GED) required  Bachelor's Degree/technical certification or equivalent experience preferred  Bachelor's Degree/technical certification in electrical engineering, automation, or control systems preferred  4+ years working with automation and control systems in industrial manufacturing with High School Diploma or GED required  2+ years working with automation and control systems in industrial manufacturing with bachelor's degree/technical certification required  Proficient with PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, electrical design, variable frequency driveÂs, industrial electrical hardware  Ability to plan work and execute plans for improvement  Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs and networks (Devicnet, Controlnet, DH+, remote I/O and ethernet)  Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, sensors (PNP, NPN), transmitters (temperature, flow, conductivity, pH, pressure, etc.)  Knowledge of variable frequency drives and servo motors  Ability to work with and lead a team of manufacturing technicians  Ability to interact and work with other departments  Good communication skills, both verbal and written  Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to support a 24/7 operation
