Regional Director of Operations ("RD") (REMOTE)

The Role

The Regional Director of Operations ("RD") serves as a key leader that is responsible for oversight and integration of all operational, sales and cultural functions across multiple orthodontic practices. The role scope of a Regional Director may vary but will generally be accountable for upwards of $40-$50M+ in P&L. Reporting to a Regional President, the RD is a critical role in driving the performance of the business through a focus on best practice implementation, strong relationships and partnership with Orthodontists, and coaching/leading Regional Managers and Practice Leadership. The RD is a true "player/coach" role where they will own a territory while also coaching, developing, and managing Regional Managers. This position will require travel up to 60% of the time.

Key Responsibilities
• Functions as key leader and partner to practices ensuring operational and cultural excellence across assigned territory.
• Oversight and accountability for key performance indicators regarding the financial health of the business to include starts, production, and collections targets.
• Support practices with the recruitment, development and retention of key team members that are aligned with the overall practice and Orthodontic Partner's culture and core values.
• Partner with Practice and Regional Manager leadership to advocate for exceptional patient care.
• Accountable to operational budget, including Production, Revenue, Collections and EBITDA.
• Coach, manage, and mentor a team comprised of a mix of Regional and Practice level Managers.
• Partner with Practice Leadership to ensure they meet all clinical and compliance standards through the training and development of team members.
• Support and advise Practices and Regional Managers on workforce planning needs, and ensure the assigned territory has a proactive approach to talent planning and staffing for practice or regional roles.
• Implement and support the Orthodontic Partners playbooks.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions in the region; recommend changes to deflect competitive pressures and/or to seize opportunities to capture greater markets.

Qualifications & Attributes
• 8 to 10+ years' progressive experience within sales, operations, or marketing within a multi-site consumer driven business. Orthodontic and / or healthcare experience preferred.
• 5 to 7+ years' experience leading sizable teams with additional experience leading Managers or others with supervisory responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• A deep understanding of key business drivers with an ability to interpret and apply understandings to drive sound decision making.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high growth environment and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities based on business needs.
• Comfortable working in a matrix driven environment with an ability to balance needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Leads with empathy, listens first to understand, and makes sound business decisions.
