Summary
The System Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting and assuring the performance of crucial systems. This includes ensuring efficiency, reliability, scalability, and adherence to development standards. Key responsibilities include testing new applications and technologies, translating requirements into design documents, and participating in technical design and testing processes. The role also defines development objectives, reviews change requests, and architecture changes, and provides recommendations on prioritization.
Responsibilities and Contributions
Organizational and Leadership Role
 Works with users and peers in planning, developing, implementing, and supporting new or existing applications
 Assess developer performance by analyzing contract deliverables, program management reviews, architecture designs, and demonstrations.
Functional Role
 Supports the creation of a Systems Engineering Master Plan, including test and demonstration activities
 Decomposes system requirements into program epics, stories, and features.
 Collects and defines requirements, translating them into functional design documents, participating in the technical design, test planning, and user documentation processes
 Supports proof-of-concept activities for new applications and technologies from a standards, performance, and nonfunctional analysis perspective, including general product assessment, implementation planning, testing and evaluation, tuning, and KPI identification
Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies
Must-Have Skills
 US citizen with TS/SCI eligibility
 Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or in a related technical or scientific field, such as engineering, operations research, engineering management or related STEM degree
 Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (Masters and PhDs may count for some years of work experience)
 Consultative experience
 Experience or training with SAFe agile methodologies
 Experience with Systems Engineering processes across all phases of the software development lifecycle
 Familiarity with Systems Engineering and IV&V strategies, and the ability to translate governing policies into actionable steps and plans for subordinate organizations.
 Certification in one of the following:
 * Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
 Google Cloud Platform Associate Engineer or equivalent experience
Highly Desired
 Master's degree in a relevant field
 PhD degree in a relevant field
 Additional technical certifications (excluding DoD 8570 specified certifications)
 Model-based systems engineering

 PTO is provided to team members as a lump sum allowance, not an accrual.
