Senior Tax Accountant - CPA or EA
Posted 2025-04-06Need a senior tax accountant to work part-time year-round. This position is responsible for performing complex tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning with minimal supervision. This is a 100% remote job. The candidate must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
The candidate's duties include the following:
 Prepare complex income, franchise, excise, USF fees and taxes, general corporate taxes (federal and state), partnership taxes, nonprofits taxes, sales/use taxes, payroll taxes, telecom, and property taxes with ability for general numbers crunching.
 Conduct, manage, negotiate and settle tax audits for both federal and state taxes.
 Represent clients in front of the IRS with power of attorney.
 Review tax information supplied by client, may meet with or call client with questions.
 Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues, and makes recommendations.
 Perform tax planning and tax due diligence.
 Identify outside consulting need and present financial and business case metrics.
 Assist in books cleanup and other bookkeeping tasks as needed.
 Promote firm services to existing and prospective clients.
 Meet productivity and efficiently standards (billable hours)
The Candidate must have of the following knowledge and skills:
 Progressive accounting and tax experience in public accounting (CPA Firm).
 Tax research skills, meaning, working knowledge of tax code and tax regulations.
 High level technical expertise in the full range of international taxation such as Foreign Tax Credit, global tax minimization, transfer pricing, Inbound, Outbound, multinational tax accruals, and FAS 109 issues.
 Excellent customer service skills, including patience and flexibility.
 Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Keen attention to detail.
 Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.
 Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities is required.
 Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
 Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
 Ability to be a team player, flexible, and able to work in fast paced and changing environment.
The ideal candidate will have ALL the following qualifications: Â 6+ years in preparing the following tax returns forms: 1040 (individuals), 1120 (corporations), 1120S (small corporations), 1065 (partnerships) and 990 (nonprofits). Â CPA or Enrolled Agents. Â Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax or relevant field. Master's degree is a plus. Â Demonstrating more advanced knowledge of best practices and experience with tax audits. Â Proficient in preparing the following schedules: A, B, C, D, E, K and K-1 Â Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, cloud-based software and tax research tools such as Thomson Reuters Checkpoint Edge, CCH learning center, THETAXBOOK, and the U.S. and CA master tax guides.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
