Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will work directly with students who have a wide range of learning, developmental, and emotional disabilities. You will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), delivering specialized instruction, and providing students with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:  Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs  Provide direct instruction to students with special needs in both one-on-one and small group settings  Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students  Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and other staff to support student success  Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as necessary  Provide social-emotional support and help students develop skills for success in the classroom  Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment for students with varying abilities  Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs  Participate in IEP meetings, school meetings, and professional development activities  Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation
Qualifications:  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field)  Valid state certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher  Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred  Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices  Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills  Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment  Compassionate and patient, with a strong commitment to student success  Ability to work as part of a team and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
