Job Title: Student Ministry Director
Position Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours
Reports to: Skagit Campus Pastor
DESCRIPTION
The role of the student ministry director is to relationally lead students to a personal, growing and alive relationship with Jesus Christ. To do this well, they must build relationships with parents  inviting & equipping them to lead at home; leaders  helping them understand how to intentionally invest in students lives, pointing them to Jesus in real ways; and students  inspiring and equipping them to be imitators of Christ.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leaders:
 Recruit, lead, and inspire volunteers to help create a safe place for middle & high school students to learn about and build a relationship with Jesus.
 Regularly connect with leaders one-on-one to see how they are doing personally and in ministry.
 Invite leaders into different roles that better utilize their gifts.
 Facilitate monthly meetings to encourage and align the team.
 Plan and execute quarterly trainings to further equip the team.
 Vision cast ministry seasons, teaching series, retreats, special events, and Go & Be initiatives.
 Celebrate. Celebrate. Celebrate. Find ways to regularly celebrate your team and what God is doing in our midst.
Students:
 Ensure Edge & Encounter consistently reflects its core values.
 Model student discipleship outside of midweek gatherings by connecting with students where they are  lunch, games, activities, etc.
 Mobilize students to live out their unique purpose in Christ.
 Organize a seamless transition for fifth graders into Edge and eighth graders into Encounter, and seniors into whatever is next for them.
Parents:
 Maintain on-going and open connection with parents.
 Invite parents to continue discussions of faith in the home.
Program:
 Plan and execute weekly Edge/Encounter gatherings.
 Create an atmosphere at Edge/Encounter meetings where students can be themselves and learn about GodÂs incredible love for them.
 As the primary teacher, prepare bible-centric, relevant teachings that students can apply to their life.
 Create and lead small, small group focused culture.
 Plan and facilitate ÂEvent Nights to draw new kids in every 8-10 weeks.
 Plan and facilitate yearly retreats that create space for spiritual growth as well as relational connection between students and leaders.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS
 Meetings
 Campus Pastor and Skagit Staff
 Attend Cornwall All-Staff (monthly), Staff Prayer (monthly), Leadership Development, trainings and team building (unless prior approval is given not to attend)
 Weekend services - attending/serving before, during, and after services, as needed.
 Attending/ serving at Cornwall special services/ events.
 Confidentiality - keeping shared personal or leadership-level details in strict confidence.
 Must have a mature commitment to Christ and the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the general public, have an agreement with Cornwall Church policy and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook, and exhibit attributes of flexibility, leadership, organization, attention to detail, being a team player, and forward thinking.
 Be in full agreement with Cornwall ChurchÂs mission statement and strategy
 Relationship with God has to be first and prayer a priority
 Strong ability to lead volunteer leaders and volunteer teams
 Positive attitude
 Team Player
 Passion for reaching the un-churched
 Strong relational and team building skills
 Understanding of current cultural influences on students
 Strong communication and organizational skills (preferred)
 Experience managing staff, setting and implementing goals and driving expectations (preferred)

SKAGIT CORNWALL CAMPUS DEMOGRAPHIC: Over 11 years ago Cornwall Church started a video venue in Skagit County, WA. Over the years this church has grown into a healthy, welcoming, gracious and growing congregation. Currently our weekend service has 145-175 people in attendance, spanning from teens to 80-year-olds. Currently our middle school ministry has 18-28 students while we have 12-24 high school students at our weekly gathering.
SKAGIT CAMPUS STUDENT MINISTRY DIRECTOR: We are looking for someone who loves Jesus Christ deeply and personally and who is passionate about sharing Jesus with students in such a way that will help them find and follow Jesus moment by moment, day by day. We have some incredible students, and we truly believe that God is moving in amazing ways, and with the right person in place we foresee continued numerical growth and spiritually growth that will impact the Kingdom and our church as a whole. To be clear, we desire wholistic growth, which includes numerical growth but not at the cost of spiritual growth. Intentional discipleship MUST be a part of our youth ministry.
