Underwriter  Aerospace Product Liability
Posted 2025-04-06Our client is looking for an Underwriter in the Aerospace Product Liability space. This is a full-time position that may be remote in the U.S. only. 25% travel is required. Candidates must be able to work for any employer without visa transfer.
This role is responsible for underwriting a portfolio of aviation product liability business and other associated lines of business, as well as the production of new business to standards established by management. Further duties are listed below.
 In consultation with the Underwriting Director, evaluate all new and renewal business to determine that it meets Company risk selection criteria, underwriting standards and pricing adequacy.
 Focus on product liability underwriting for various aerospace clients  manufacturers, repair and service organizations, major airports, ground handlers, and other aviation professional and technical service providers.
 Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with aviation agents and brokers to ensure consistent communication and raise awareness about underwriting capabilities and business production goals.
 Become acquainted and maintain proficiency with policy forms and coverage offerings.
 Maintain knowledge of technical developments/changes in the aviation and insurance fields, specifically the aviation insurance industry.
 Initiate the issuance of contract certain and compliant policy wordings, endorsements, quotes, and binders per company standards and consultation with the Wordings department as required.
 Adhere to underwriting guidelines and established procedures, and stay abreast of Company policies, goals, and objectives.
 Collaborate with Global EU, Canada, and UK offices, US regional offices, and other internal departments.
 Keep the underwriting team informed of industry activity with respect to new risks, competition, trends, broker activity, etc. Assist with the development and support of thought leadership opportunities.
 Domestic travel (up to 25%) is required to facilitate in-person broker and client interaction at business meetings and, if applicable, regular trips to the US home office.
Qualifications
Education:
 BachelorÂs Degree
Skills/Experience:
 Relevant experience in property/casualty insurance industry required
 Excellent verbal, written, math, and analytical skills
 Strong interpersonal and influence management skills
 Well-versed in Microsoft Office Skills (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Preferred:
 Pilot certificate, engineering or aviation maintenance background a plus
