About the position

The Director of Finance & Accounting will play a crucial role in driving the business forward for a small start-up team in the greater DMV area. This position requires a candidate with a start-up mentality who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in B2C finance. Responsibilities
• Craft and execute strategic financial plans that align with the company's overall objectives, ensuring long-term financial stability and growth.

• Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of precise and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.

• Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring effective resource allocation and alignment with financial targets.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in progressively responsible finance and accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.

• Thorough grasp of financial management principles, encompassing GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decision making.
