Posted 2025-04-06RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Technical Product Owner, Mortgage for a full-time role.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Owner with extensive knowledge in mortgage industry and related systems. Responsibilities include manage the backlog, remove roadblocks, work across Dev, QA, Business analysts and Stakeholders. The Product Owner will take over scrum ceremonies, manage the backlog, and act as the single point of contact for executing and delivering on team commitments.
Key Responsibilities:  Scrum Ceremonies: Lead and manage scrum ceremonies, ensuring the team is on track and successful  Accountability: Clearly define and manage accountability within the team, holding members responsible for their tasks  Team Support: Work closely with Business Analysts (BAs), Developers (Dev), and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to support and drive work  Feature Articulation: Define and articulate features to BAs for user story creation  Blocker Removal: Identify and remove blockers to ensure smooth workflow  Business Liaison: Act as the liaison between the business and the development team, understanding and solving business problems  Escalation: Escalate issues to management when necessary  Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on business needs  Resident Expert: Be the resident expert on the product/systems involved, providing guidance and expertise
REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field  5-7 years of experience in Mortgage Industry; Experience in mortgage servicing and origination is nice to have  Proven experience as a technical Product Owner, preferably with experience managing Jira  Strong understanding of mortgage systems and workflows  Proficiency in Jira for managing projects and tasks  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities  Adaptability and a proactive approach to finding the best ways to support the team  Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams  Articulate and able to work effectively with developers  Adaptive and able to take different approaches to make the team productive  Strong focus on accountability and team success
Preferred Qualifications:  Certification in Product Ownership or Agile methodologies (e.g., CSPO, PSPO)  Experience with specific mortgage systems and tools used in the industry  Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the mortgage sector  API experience strongly desired
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
