Senior Manager of Accounting

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager of Accounting to join our growing team! This role will be a key leader in creating and executing a strategy to ensure the delivery of world-class accounting services to small and medium-sized businesses.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Manage and provide strategic oversight of budget and profit and loss statements for the accounting department
 Manage and create a capacity plan to ensure all client deliverables are met, contributing to strategic and operational planning in client management
 Ensure all billable and non-billable time is coded appropriately, managing to an 80% + utilization rate for the accounting team and an individual 50% + utilization rate
 Lead a team to deliver agreed upon accounting services to multiple clients, ensuring clients needs are met and that accounts continuously grow
 Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the clientÂs business, financial entries, and reports
 Support in the creation of client proposals and project schedules
 Manage and lead the month-end close process on behalf of clients to ensure accuracy and time schedules are met
 Prepare and review accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
 Prepare and oversee the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers
 Identify reporting and process improvements to better utilize existing systems, or implement new technology (as needed/required)
 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client needs
 Manage a team to prepare corporate tax returns; conduct US corporate tax engagements involving advice on tax planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues
 Leverage technology for improved customer efficiency and to drive customer experience
 Supervise, coach and mentor all levels of staff
Qualifications
 BachelorÂs degree in accounting or related field
 A valid CPA is required
 10+ years of accounting experience, with 5+ years of public company/public accounting manager experience
 Experience in an advisory or consulting environment is preferred; must be comfortable managing billable and non-billable hours expectations
 Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
 Strong knowledge of SAGE and QuickBooks
 Strong financial analysis skills and thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
 Highly analytical and extreme attention to detail required
 Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
 Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization; both internally and externally
 Proficient use of applicable technology and ability to learn new software platforms
 Strong business acumen
