The Manager  Consumer & Individual Sales is responsible for our individual direct-to-consumer sales channels, broker relations, and development, and is the subject matter expert (SME) for these lines of business and distribution channels. This role oversees individual new sales, retention, and distribution partnerships statewide and supervises the inside sales department in a call center environment.
Essential Functions
 Achieve annual sales and retention goals for Individual Plan category by leading and working together with the Inside Sales team, brokers, and partners such as Select Health, Your Health Idaho, and Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI).
 Develop, mentor, and train the inside sales team, in a call center environment.
 Serve as the Inside Sales escalation manager and provide periodic backup support to the Inside Sales team during peak demand and PTO absences.
 Develop and lead successful relations with individual segment-focused brokers.
 Contribute to data analysis, reporting sales activities and metrics, and source competitive information for marketing decision support.
 Contribute to a strong Delta Dental brand presence by participating in community engagement and attending events.
 Attend broker events to promote Delta Dental individual plans, answer questions and represent yourself as the SME in individual products and the direct-to-consumer market landscape for Delta Dental of Idaho.
 Orient new brokers by providing product training, explanation of commission policies, quoting process, and sales support related to individual plans. Ensure the Inside Sales team has the same training and is positioned as backup.
 Develop subject matter expertise in the use of Delta DentalÂs proprietary system, ProClaim, as it relates to our Individual category of business and the Inside Sales team.
 Demonstrate a commitment to the organizationÂs mission, core values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 High school diploma, or equivalent, required. College degree preferred.
 Minimum 3 years experience in the health insurance industry in a sales or account management role.
 Experience in a call center preferred.
 Previous management experience with direct reports.
 Ability to collaborate with other departments and coordinate projects effectively.
 Problem-solving and organization skills.
 Proficiency in computer technology, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and other mainstream software programs.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Strong negotiation skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of customers.
 Able to meet deadlines along with working under pressure and handling varied tasks.
 Willing to regularly travel in-state, including some limited overnight travel.
 Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of employment, an Idaho producer license in Health & Disability through the state insurance exam.
