In this role, you will serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients, transforming their financial departments to help them meet their mission. You will be responsible for financial reporting for management and Board decision-making, recommending and implementing improvements to accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance policies. Your work will include transactional activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Additionally, you will engage in analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting, grant management, and prepare for and manage annual audits. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to interact with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees regularly.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients.

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.

• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.
,
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.
,
• Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.
,
• Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
,
• Prepare for and manage annual audits.
,
• Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
,
• 5-7 plus years accounting experience.
,
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
,
• Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis.
,
• Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
,
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.
,
• Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.
,
• CPA certification is a plus.
,
• Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in nonprofit accounting or consulting is a plus.

• Familiarity with various GL packages and electronic bill pay systems.
