Global Financial Initiatives and Integrity (GFII) represents AXP Finance on various company initiatives upholding the company's commitment on regulatory compliance and financial integrity via our internal management policy - AEMP16.

The Senior Manager – Financial Systems, within GFII, is a critical position on the Corporate Controllership team and is responsible for supporting the Global Network and Amex Offers segment and the corresponding systems and platforms. The incumbent will be responsible for leading a portfolio of projects that require analysis of financial processes and systems, defining financial needs and partnering with development teams to deliver on these requirements. This position requires strong relationship management and conflict resolution skills. The role will be responsible for collaboration with multiple partners including Business, Finance and Technology.

Key Responsibilities include
• Lead a team of Senior Financial Systems Analysts to deliver on Finance requirements through the Agile Lifecycle
• Provide mentorship and feedback to team colleagues to drive success in their role and in their careers
• Support a team of Financial Systems Managers to deliver on Finance requirements through the Agile Lifecycle
• Manage End to End (E2E) project lifecycle for Business and Finance projects
• Drive engagement in business initiatives requiring technology development with financial, reporting, or accounting impacts
• Ensure compliance with System Control & Reporting and all other relevant AXP and Finance Policies
• Define end-to-end balancing and controls that meet the needs of AEMP16 and Financial Reporting
• Lead user acceptance testing of finance requirements in conjunction with relevant business teams
• Ensure new finance process is operationalized and documented post implementation
• Proactively identify project and operational risks and raise to leadership and key project partners to remediate
• Ensure Partner Management and Communication is provided, as appropriate
• Deliver regular project status updates to GFII leadership
• Document outcomes of project and solicit feedback from customers, business partners, and other key project partners engaged in project life cycle
• Support consultancy projects in support of other Finance teams and initiatives
• Partner across teams to deliver Automation, meet Operational Risk requirements and Data Governance objectives
• Provide thought leadership on opportunities for team improvements and process changes
• Partner with Director to optimize resource deployment to projects to assure quality and timely delivery of project outcomes.
• Support Director in assurance of strong business partner relationships

Minimum Qualifications: • 5+ years’ experience managing projects with relevant business and technology experience • Typically holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or has equivalent work experience • Understanding of US GAAP requirements and financial control principles and practices • Three to five years’ experience in defining system development requirements across business and technologies • Three to five years’ experience in defining and validating system development and financial test cases • Strong knowledge of large-scale multi-feed ERP processes and systems is desired • Demonstrated critical thinking and results driven approach with an ability to convert strategic vision into clear project outcomes including skills to analyze highly complex processes, data volume and translate into tangible tasks or goals • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio) is a requirement to aid on written and visual communication as well as analytics

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
