Onsite: 24 hours/week in the office

Smith Micro develops software to simplify and enhance the mobile experience, providing solutions to leading wireless service providers and cable MSOs around the world. Our solutions enrich today’s connected lifestyles while creating new opportunities to engage consumers via smartphones and consumer IoT devices.

This is a hybrid internship position set to begin in late May or June, lasting for 12 weeks. Summer interns will work 30-40 hours per week, with three (3) days in the office.

What you will do:

  • Perform a variety of activities related to the project management.
  • Collaborate internally with operating groups to ensure mobile device deliverables are met on time.
  • Manage communications with OEMs and partners regarding: Mobile device activation requests and resolving blocking issues to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage the device portfolio for the product, ensuring: The device catalog is accurate and up to date and maintaining an accurate status representation for each device in the portfolio.
  • Coordinate efforts with the assigned Program Manager and Product Manager on: Identifying and documenting project-related processes as well as proposing and identifying improvements for these processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Required Education and Experience

  • Located within 20 miles of the office with reliable transportation to work in-office three (3) days weekly.
  • Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, or relevant field.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing communications at once.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required Education and Experience:

  • Familiarity with project management tools and Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience with mobile device management or product roadmaps is a plus.
