Position: Training & Facilitation Specialist

Reporting to: Training & Facilitation Supervisor

Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 10AM - 6PM EST

Note for applicants: RAINN is committed to providing 24/7 support through the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline and the Department of Defense Safe Helpline. This role plays a vital part in supporting our around-the-clock Support Specialists.

As a valued member of RAINN’s Victim Services team, the Training and Facilitation Specialist will take the lead in delivering live, blended online training for staff, volunteers, and interns of the National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH) and the Department of Defense Safe Helpline (SHL). This role is crucial in ensuring that all training content is trauma-informed, survivor-centered, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. The Training and Facilitation Specialist will guide both initial onboarding and ongoing training, adapting to the needs of our dedicated team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain an expertise in training staff to provide services to victims of sexual violence. Training and services must be research-based and consistent with best practices in the fields of crisis intervention and sexual violence prevention and response. • Assist with communicating with new hotline trainees through the training process after hire, including issues with the learning management systems (LMS), questions about training sessions, or ongoing training needs with other training staff. • Facilitate live blended online training for staff and volunteer workforce, and external clients. • Facilitate role play debrief sessions and provide feedback to trainees. • Assist with generating reports of trainee progress. • Assist with developing (or revising) facilitation guides for new and updated training. • Responsible for documenting trainee progress by identifying areas of excellence and areas for growth during live facilitation. • Identify emerging training needs and assist in creating (or revising) training module content. • Assist the Learning Management Systems Administrator and Data Specialist with reviewing post-training survey data for both National Sexual Assault and Safe Helpline onboarding training to identify areas for improvement of online and live trainings. • Carry out any additional tasks and responsibilities relevant to the work being completed, as assigned.

Position Specifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Required Qualifications: • 4+ years experience in the field of social services, crisis hotline/intervention experience, or related experience. • 2+ years delivering training, assessing training needs, and developing content for anti-sexual violence trainings. • Experience facilitating training using online learning platforms, such as learning management systems and/ or Zoom. • Experience with strong customer service focus. • Experience working well within a team working towards targeted deadlines. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, written and oral. • Ability to solve problems and deal with a wide range of situations. • Ability to exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions. • Maintain a positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to successfully work on a team and independently. • Ability to be flexible and adaptable; responsive to new information and adjusts plans and deliverables as needed. • Provide “all-hands-on-deck” support to the training team as needed. • Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule. • Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence. • Must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, public health, social work, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in communication, education, public health, social work, or a related field. • Veterans will be given priority. • Knowledge/experience working with military survivors. • Experience in the fields of social work, education, and/or social justice. • Experience working with various populations such as persons with disabilities, minors, and immigrants. • Sexual Assault Advocate/Counselor Training (NACP). • DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP). • Master Training Specialist Certification, ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), and/or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

RAINN Office Status

RAINN headquarters are based in Washington, DC. This position may be based regionally for someone whose residence is within the continental USA. Although this may be a remote role, it may require some periodic business travel to our DC offices for onsite meetings and training sessions.

Remote Work Requirements

RAINN employees are required to have a home office setup with a dependable high-speed internet connection. This must be sufficient to support all job-related tasks, including accessing systems, communicating with teams, and providing uninterrupted hotline services or administrative support.
