JLL is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Vice President within our Public Institutions Advisory group. This position is available in Austin, San Diego, Chicago, Washington DC, Charlotte, Denver, or Atlanta, although strong candidates from other locations may be considered. The ideal candidate will possess strong real estate and finance skills, with the ability to immediately support significant real estate consulting and transaction projects in the government and education sectors. About JLL Public Institutions Jones Lang LaSalle's Public Institutions group (PI) provides a wide range of real estate services to public agencies and education institutions. We identify and implement strategies that allow organizations who serve others to fully leverage their real property in close alignment with their organizational missions. Our practice has grown rapidly over the past decade and is an industry leader in portfolio management and advisory, real estate strategy and providing complex development advisory services, with a specialty in public-private partnerships. Having the track-record and know-how In this role, youÂll need to have the industry experience required to manage client delivery and advisory. YouÂll be expected to contribute as a key member of client facing teams to grow business, develop, implement and manage projects that vary greatly in subject and complexity. This work includes the following key responsibilities: Client Management and Project Leadership: Lead and manage multiple large-scale client engagements simultaneously Provide expert advice and oversight to project teams, including complex financial modeling and real estate concepts Coordinate and oversee work performed by other JLL business units and third-party subcontractors Lead deal negotiations and transaction management, including structuring complex public-private partnerships (ground leases, lease/leasebacks, tax-exempt financing, concessionaire agreements, availability payments) Ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies, universities, K-12, and non-profit organizations Prepare comprehensive development opportunity solicitation and marketing documents Conduct highest and best use studies and land residual valuations Review and analyze legal documents, financial reports, and operating plans Team Management and Development: Manage and mentor a team of Associates and/or Associate Vice Presidents Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members Collaborate with senior leadership to align team goals with overall business objectives Participate in talent review and performance management processes Business Development and Thought Leadership: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public sector and education markets, leveraging JLL's extensive network and resources Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies, universities, K-12, and non-profit organizations through regular engagement, thought leadership, and high-quality service delivery Organize and participate in industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to expand JLL's presence and identify potential leads and author thought leadership pieces Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and service offerings that differentiate JLL in the competitive public sector advisory landscape Utilize market intelligence and data analytics to identify emerging trends and opportunities, positioning JLL as a forward-thinking partner for clients Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with clients by consistently delivering value, exceeding expectations, and providing strategic insights beyond individual transactions Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred 10-15 years of experience in commercial real estate, real estate finance, or P3 advisory, with a focus on government and/or higher education sectors Proven track record of successfully managing complex real estate advisory assignments and client relationships Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and critical thinking abilities Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights Demonstrated ability to manage medium to large-sized projects and accounts Willingness to travel up to 25-35% of the time Additional Valued Traits: Exceptional skill in translating complex data into clear, visually compelling presentations and reports, utilizing advanced data visualization techniques and tools to effectively communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior government officials and executive leadership Demonstrated experience in federal government consulting, including familiarity with federal procurement processes, budgeting cycles, and regulatory requirements Track record of successfully navigating complex bureaucracies and building consensus among diverse stakeholders in government settings Experience in mentoring and developing staff, with a focus on fostering their professional growth and enhancing their technical skills Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate teams, delegate effectively, and provide constructive feedback Commitment to creating a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning Ability to identify and nurture talent within the team, supporting career progression and retention of high-performing individuals Dynamic work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit What You Can Expect from JLL: An entrepreneurial, inclusive culture valuing integrity, teamwork, and innovation Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for career growth, diverse experiences and enriching work that will deliver generational impact to the communities of the clients we serve Supportive and talented team environment based on the values of lifelong learning and curiosity JLL is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
