Darden General Research Assistant, Summer 2025 (Remote) (Student Wage)
Posted 2025-04-06Darden is hiring research assistants for the summer who will report either directly to Darden faculty or to associate directors for research initiatives across Darden to provide support for the research work of Darden faculty. Work may include locating and summarizing existing academic literature and policies, constructing data sets based on information collected online, and writing summaries of faculty research for business practitioners. This posting is for multiple positions requiring the same skills. Potential areas of work include impact investing, gratitude at work, entrepreneurship, and other topics relevant to faculty research initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:  Locate and summarize academic literature on a variety of topics  Create data sets by researching publicly available information on companies or cities  Qualitative coding of textual or visual data  Summarize and contextualize Darden faculty research for business practitioners  Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
 Very strong written and verbal communication
 Strong synthesis skills (reading and summarizing arguments)
 Strong attention to detail
 Able to work independently while balancing multiple projects
 Willing to attack a problem from different angles when the first approach does not work
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Positions are open to students in business, accounting, economics, social sciences, humanities, statistics, mathematics, or other disciplines with strong writing skills.
Hourly pay rate depends on level of education. Students pursing a:
 4-year degree: $14/hour
 MA Degree: $19/hour
 Ph.D. Degree (post-MA phase): $25/hour
Position offers 15-40 hours/week during the summer. This position is remote but must be completed in the United States.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
