Junior Counsel - Part Time
Posted 2025-04-06A leading beauty retailer in San Francisco is seeking a Junior Counsel to join their team on a contract basis! As Junior Counsel you will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Legal function on various contracts, marketing initiatives and legal issues.  *This is a part-time, remote office... opportunity Pay will be $40/HR**
You will:
 Be the legal point of contact (POC) for internal team inquiries and requests
 Review basic marketing copy like promotions and related disclaimers
 Update and manage legal library of standard disclaimers and T&Cs, social media templates and influencer agreements
 Review and draft commercial agreements with vendors and brands on companyÂs contract template
 Review exceptions or non-standard contract terms with Senior Counsel and obtain approvals
 Be the first pass review of advertising and communications materials according to applicable laws, company policies and brand requirements
 Advise marketing teams on social media issues such as disclosure requirements and endorsement guidelines, with support from Senior level Counsel
 Draft multiple type of agreements on company template forms
 Support AGC and Senior Counsel on legal and regulatory requirements of medicinal personal care products and cosmetic laws
 Participate in preparing and delivering legal training and presentations to internal teams and stakeholders
 Collaborate on special projects as needed
 Supporting with MSA and SAAS Contract Review
You have:
 2+ years of commercial contract experience
 JD from a nationally accredited law school is a MUST
 Experience working with amendments, NDAs, redline contracts, etc
 Experience working in legal departments for retail or consumer goods companies
 Experience providing advice and counseling to clients
 Superb interpersonal, analytical, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
 Ability to balance business impact and legal risk
 Ability to work with a diverse range of team members
 Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously with strong follow up
