Manager - Underwriting

Description:
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of underwriters to ensure high performance, professional growth, and alignment with business goals.
• Ensure your team of underwriters are working small business applications in accordance with our underwriting policies and guidelines
• Work closely with underwriters on your team to address application-related concerns or issues, reviewing applications as needed, and helping them meet their operational KPIs
• Report to underwriting leadership on team performance, and work with them on ways to enhance our department processes and guidelines, helping to drive department performance

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree • 5+ years of professional experience in underwriting (consumer, small business, commercial) • 2+ years of experience leading and managing an underwriting team • In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements • Experience leading and coaching a team and driving results • Ability to effectively learn and process information in a fast-paced environment • Strong problem solving skills and effective decision making ability
