Duties
 Review and analyze medical records to extract relevant information for coding purposes.
 Assign appropriate ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes to diagnoses and procedures based on established guidelines.
 Ensure compliance with all coding regulations and standards, including DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) requirements.
 Collaborate with medical staff to clarify any discrepancies in documentation that may affect coding accuracy.
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in coding practices, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
 Support the medical billing process by providing accurate codes that facilitate timely reimbursement.
 Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance coding skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
 Proven experience in medical coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
 Strong understanding of medical records systems and processes.
 Proficiency in medical terminology related to diagnoses and procedures.
 Familiarity with ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and other relevant coding standards.
 Experience with medical billing practices is a plus.
 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
 Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
 Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is preferred but not required.
