Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst

Apex Systems is assisting one of our clients in the hiring of a Software QA. This is a TEMPORARY position operating on a 4-month contract engagement.

Candidates with 5+ years of software QA experience with financial knowledge, who would enjoy working in a small to mid-sized company are encouraged to apply.

Position: Software QA

Location: Remote working East Coast hours

Duration: 4 month contract engagement (W2)

Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other members of the professional services team to ensure great, high quality solutions to customer needs
• Develop, document, and execute test plans to validate functionality, robustness, performance, and usability of complex requirements
• Effectively investigate and communicate defects to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support upgrades of the product, validating that customer outcomes are maintained after upgrade
• Investigate and troubleshoot customer support issues
• Scrum rituals (huddles, sprint planning, retrospective, demo, grooming)
• Test plan documentation
• Support continuous improvement and high technical standards by participating in requirement and design reviews and other best practices
• Support development of project plans and on time delivery by identifying necessary tasks and dependencies, estimating timelines, and completing milestones in alignment with project plan
• Identify and implement technology and process improvements that improve the product or development process
• Clearly and professionally communicate status, risks, impediments, recommendations, and concerns

Requirements and Qualifications
• 5+ years of software testing experience
• 2+ years experience with business finance
• 2+ years experience with relational databases (SQL)
• Strong critical thinking skills and the knowledge and ability to assess how to validate requirements and effectively report defects
• Knowledge of best practices for software engineering and Agile software development life cycles
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work closely with other members of the PSO, development, and product teams to drive resolution of problems
• Demonstrate initiative, strong work ethic, and accountability
• Demonstrate planning, organization, and time management
• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented professional with ability to work independently within a large team
