Position Overview: Our company continues to grow. As a result, we seek an experienced insurance accounting professional, to join our team as an Employee Benefits (EB) Staff Accountant. In this position you will be responsible for supporting and handling assigned accounting functions for multiple Patriot employee benefits agencies that include the management and reconciliation of direct bill commissions from insurance companies, daily bookkeeping tasks, monthly financial statement preparation and reporting, vendor payables support, and serving as an overall point of contact for local agency finance and accounting needs. You will have had past success in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and be comfortable learning new skills and shifting to a new way of thinking and doing where expected.
Work Location: This position is a full time, hybrid or remote position.
Primary Responsibilities:  Accurate and timely receipt, posting, and reconciliation of direct bill commissions from insurance companies on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Handle assigned facets of multiple employee benefits companies accounting functions on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis  Daily monitoring and booking of bank statement activity to the general ledger, including monthly reconciliation of bank accounts  Implement and maintain Patriot accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs) to each agency  Manage third party outsourced providers and implement/manage technology solutions related to insurance commission posting  Perform monthly reconciliations of selected income statement and balance sheet accounts as directed by manager  Manage financial books and records of assigned agencies, including booking of receipts, disbursements, journal entries, etc. where necessary and as directed  Prepare accounts receivable reports and assist with the collection of outstanding balances  Generate monthly financial statements (including balance sheet and income statement) and submit to regional accountants as required  Manage month-end close of local agency general ledger systems and agency management systems  Assist in providing audit support documentation of audit selections by external auditors  Assist with budget preparation when requested  Coordinate the payment of all operating expenses of assigned agencies and work to transition payables to centralized AGT accounts payable team where necessary  Various other project responsibilities as requested
Qualifications and Requirements:  Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field  2+ years of relevant accounting experience in the insurance brokerage industry is desired  Working knowledge of various insurance agency management systems (AMS) such as BenefitPoint Applied EPIC is preferred  Prior working experience with Business Central and QuickBooks Online is preferred  Proficient in working with various accounting software and financial management systems  Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite tools particularly in Excel and use of pivot tables and working with a high volume of data  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)  Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain high levels of accuracy  Promote positive culture surrounding PatriotÂs core values of Positivity, Empowerment, Collaboration, Transparency, and Appreciation  Driven, self-starter with ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment  Ability to travel to various Patriot agency locations or corporate office as needed  Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 depending on the candidateÂs experience
 A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
