About the opportunity
Homeward Mortgage is focused on bringing financial innovations to life and delivering a seamlessly integrated mortgage experience to every Homeward customer. WeÂre the newest business line at Homeward and have recently made the leap from mortgage broker to direct lender. WeÂre building a team of subject matter experts and business people with an entrepreneur's mindset and ability to get stuff done.
WeÂre looking for a Director of Mortgage Sales to own the development and execution of Homeward MortgageÂs sales team department and strategies. YouÂll be responsible for building and overseeing a rapidly growing team of more than 15 licensed Mortgage Loan Officers, ensuring they have the resources, workflows, and training needed to provide top level service to HomewardÂs agents and customers through the mortgage process. YouÂll report to the VP of Mortgage Lending while collaborating regularly with other cross functional departments within Homeward and Homeward Mortgage.
Responsibilities will include:
 Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy of sales routines, incentives and process to build enduring customer and agent relationships
 Recruit, develop & lead a high-performing team of licensed Mortgage Loan Officers and Sales Managers that optimize the mortgage experience by providing consistent communication, guidance on mortgage products and pricing, and on time closings.
 Develop, manage, and execute initiatives necessary to achieve company goals
 Develop reporting to create visibility for HomewardÂs senior leadership and board of directors
 Collaborate with Homeward and Homeward Mortgage operations and product teams to ensure the Sales team team workflow, communication, and service level accountability are in alignment and create a seamless Homeward experience.
About you:
 5+ years of experience of developing and managing sales teams in the mortgage industry
 Deep knowledge and understanding of mortgage transactions, mortgage compliance, loan products, and sales techniques.
 Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with top producing real estate agents
 Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment
 Tangible experience building something from the ground up
 Ability to thrive in ambiguous or uncertain environments
 Interest in improving the complex, emotional process of buying and selling a home and making it the exciting milestone in peopleÂs lives that it deserves to be
 NMLS license preferred (any state)
