Posted 2025-04-06About the position
Evernorth Workplace Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide per diem support at our worksite-based health center in Fort Myers, Florida. This role is pivotal in delivering primary care treatment in an employer-based setting, focusing on episodic care for low acuity urgent care cases and extended episodic acute care, which may involve multiple visits for illnesses or injuries that are not chronic in nature. The Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for chronic condition education and co-management with outside primary care providers when Evernorth is not the primary care provider. The position requires the ability to oversee and perform CLIA waived tests, dispense prescription medications, and manage specimen collection in the lab. Collaboration with onsite employees is essential, as the NP will provide biometric screenings and health and wellness education. There is also potential for involvement in travel medicine recommendations, immunizations, and allergen immunotherapy administration, contingent upon proper training. The NP will engage in direct health coaching with employees and facilitate referrals to wellness programs, demonstrating a strong ability to work effectively with healthcare team members, including Medical Assistants (MA) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial for this role, as the NP will interact with both internal and external customers in various settings. The ability to partner with local HR and benefits teams to enhance employee health is also a key component of this position. The NP will be expected to work health center hours, which include Monday from 7 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Wednesday from 7 AM to 5 PM, Thursday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, and Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
