Launched in 2015, Generation comprises a global hub (Generation You Employed, or GYE) and a network of in-country affiliates.To date, the network has 100,000+ graduates and 11,000+ employers across 46 professions and 17 countries.When learners join Generation, 91% are unemployed, of which nearly half are long-term unemployed. Three months after completing our program, graduates have an 78% job placement rate, rising to 88% within six months. Of our employed graduates, 68% are hired by repeat employers who have previously hired Generation graduates, and 89% are in jobs directly related to the profession for which we have trained them. Employed graduates immediately earn an average of 3-4X their previous earnings. Two to five years after graduation, 77% of our alumni from upper-middle income countries continue to meet their daily financial needs and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generationâs global graduates have earned more than $1 billion in wages. Generation graduates typically have a secondary school background, 54% are female, 34% have dependents, and the majority identify with underrepresented communities in their country.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Product Owner who is driven by excellence, and who not only embodies our values, but is patient and embraces a serviceâattitude. The successful candidate shall have excellent problem-solving skills and adequately troubleshoot requests. They would need to be a self-starter, eager to learn new systems, and interact with the Digital Team and all GYE stakeholders.
The role is a global position reporting to the Head of Product and Product Design on the Digital Team.
Specifically, the role will:

Define initial prototypes and verify this design with customers and the engineering team.·
Help development the long-term product roadmap.·
Work with the Engineering and Design Leads to shape the future direction and strategy for digital within Generation.·
Work closely with our Program Delivery Support on rollout plans, including testing and training.·
Manage specifications and write Agile-style user-stories, maintaining the development backlog.·
Evaluate commercial products that could replace or augment our custom products.·
Monitoring and assessing software and the behavior of users prioritizing functionalities.·
Quality assurance for all developed software.·
Training to System Operations team.·
Roll out of products.·
Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.·
Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.·
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.·
Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.·
Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements.·
Collaborate closely with engineering in end-to-end solutions.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
We value Product Owners who have:

At least 2 years of experience as product manager, project manager of product owner·
A positive, friendly, and collaborative attitude.·
Technology background: Solid understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development lifecycles.·
Track record of working as a product owner or scrum master within an agile team that successfully delivered scalable products.·
Excellence in effectively communicating and collaborating with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, as well as with stakeholders and partners.·
Experience shipping several large-scale projects with multiple dependencies.·
Passion for team growth and development.·
Experience actively coaching, mentoring, and developing team members and a champion of shaping our open, mission-driven culture.·
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to set a vision and motivate your team towards key milestones.·
Experience in co-managing the day-to-day operations of a start-up or businesses units.·
Experience with identifying new ventures in digital and business development.·
