Where we work
Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. Why weâre looking for you
The People Operations Specialist will support the greater People Operations team, optimizing processes that support Ownerâs rapid growth and lays the foundation for the future. This position will closely collaborate with teams across the business to implement best practices and processes for People Operations to drive operational excellence and team member experience across the entire lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding. This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.
The impact you will have
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding: Support the new hire onboarding process, partnering with our Talent team and cross functional leaders, to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new team members. Support team member offboarding ensuring compliance across geos and jurisdictions.
Team Member Engagement: Drive employee engagement & recognition initiatives; champion maintaining a positive organizational culture through communication and company programs.
Data Management: Maintain and update employee records in the companyâs HRIS, ensuring all data is accurate, confidential, and compliant. Assist with audits and reporting to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Operational Execution: Support the development and implementation of People Ops policies, processes and programs, ensuring adoption and compliance.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support and other related responsibilities as assigned. Support team members through outreach of general inquiries.
Who youâll work with
â What weâre looking for
Minimum of 3 + years of demonstrated experiencein a People Operations support role, preferably in a start-up environment and supporting a global workforce.
Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environmentwith the agility and enthusiasm to adapt quickly, tackle diverse challenges, and contribute effectively to a high-energy team.
Proficiency in HR tech stack, preferably Rippling HRIS & Lattice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well across all levels and teams of the organization.
Understanding of labor laws, HR policies, and best practices in the US; Canada LATAM a plus.
Ability to identify opportunities and find creative solutions for People Operations processes and people issues.
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective at managing deadlines, ensuring a smooth execution of day-to-day operations.
