Responsibilities for billing customer service representatives
 Review patient claims on an individual basis which includes, but is not limited to investigating and managing all credits, refunds, and payments
 Manage billing hotline and ensure that proper support is being provided to our patients who are reaching out to us via this channel
 Make outbound soft calls to patients to ensure they have received their invoice, respond to questions they may have, make reasonable efforts to collect amounts based on the patientÂs individual financial situation
 Provide exceptional customer service by communicating via telephone and in writing with patients, internal team members, and clients
 Manage and utilize time effectively, assist others within the unit, to ensure department meets required service levels for improved patient care
Qualifications for billing customer service
 Minimum of one (1) year experience in in a healthcare setting, preferably in working with patients on bill resolution
 Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel (basic skills)
Desired experience in billing customer service can include:
 Experience in making outbound Âsoft collection calls to patients related to their bills
 Experience in handling difficult patients who reach out to resolve their balances
 Positive and sympathetic approach to our patients with Substance Use Disorders, demonstrating understanding of their current situation
